This week the world of research celebrates the open access movement with the 8th annual open access week. The theme this year is Open for Collaboration and will look at how open access helps collaboration between researchers, organisations and more. Institutions, organisations and inidividuals around the world are putting together activities such as twitter chats, webinars and a wikipedia edit-a-thon. In other news, LERU, the League of European Research Universities, is throwing its weight behind the OA movement and has a statement at http://www.leru.org/index.php/public/extra/signtheLERUstatement/ which it would like researchers, univerisities and funders to sign.
